SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A naturalization ceremony at the Illinois State Fair welcomed 400 new American citizens.
Governor JB Pritzker attended the ceremony to give well-wishes to people from over 75 different countries.
Pritzker said he thinks there is no better place to welcome new Americans than the fair.
"For the second time ever, we asked to do this ceremony at the state fair, and it feels well, perfect to put the best traditions of America on display at the same time and place that we put the best traditions of the state of Illinois on display," Pritzker said.
