CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Love recently came full circle at Robeson Elementary in Champaign.

Champaign Unit 4 Schools said in an Aug. 15 Facebook post that a couple named Shelly and Rob recently had their wedding at Robeson Elementary, where their relationship began.

Unit 4 shared that Rob was best friends with Shelly's brother in kindergarten, and the two grew up two blocks from each other.

The two crossed paths at various events over the years, but managed to remain in touch through social media, despite the timing never feeling quite right.

Things changed six years ago when the couple went on their first date.

The wedding was officiated by Shelly's daughter on the school's playground.
