• A second worker was found dead after an explosion Monday at the U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works plant in an "extraordinarily difficult day for the U.S. Steel family."
• Two died and more than 10 were injured in the industrial accident at about 11 a.m. Monday at the Pittsburgh area coke plant, which supplies U.S. Steel's mills in Northwest Indiana with coke, a form of coal that's a primary ingredient of steelmaking.
• Timothy Quinn and an unidentified man died after coke oven gas ignited while workers were preparing for a maintenance job. Allegheny County Emergency Services reported no one else is unaccounted for. Ten steelworkers were taken to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
