Amazon adds same-day delivery for ‘high demand’ service

SEATTLE, Washington — Amazon is expanding its same-day delivery service to include fresh groceries, giving millions of Prime members the ability to order produce, dairy, meat, seafood, baked goods and frozen items, the company announced Wednesday .

The company said the rollout will initially cover more than 1,000 cities and towns, with plans to reach over 2,300 by the end of 2025.

“We’re continuously innovating to make grocery shopping simpler, faster and more affordable for our customers, especially Prime members,” said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores. “By introducing fresh groceries into our same-day delivery service, we’re creating a quick and easy experience for customers.
