CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - New students are getting ready to spend their first night on the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus.
The first batch of incoming students moved into the residence halls at SIU on Wednesday.
The entire SIU campus was buzzing as new students were arriving to begin their college experience.
At Thompson Point, students and their families were unloading their trunks starting at 8:30 on Wednesday morning.
Talon Blas is an incoming freshman and is majoring in Radiology. He says he’s excited for his first taste of independence.
“I’m real excited to be on my own for once. I think it will be really fun to be away from my parents. I love them. But I’m excited to see how I do.”, says Blas.
