HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Hendersonville is moving closer toward putting a temporary ban on building new apartments in the city.

Over the years more people have moved to Hendersonville for a variety of reasons from a thriving economy to beautiful homes or outdoor recreation.

“I grew up here, left in 1990 came back in 2016. It’s the greatest place ever,” said resident John Prentiss.

Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows the quick growth over the decade, with a population of 32,671 in 1990 to 63,947 in 2020.

The mayor of Hendersonville, Jamie Clary, says he’s seeing a steady rise in population of about one percent each year.
