GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - While fogging for mosquitoes may seem convenient, the process can be harmful to many other species, even unintentionally.

Pets, kids, pollinators and birds can also be harmed by fogging. Instead, mosquito buckets have become an alternative to handling the insects without heavily affecting other species.

Mosquito buckets offer standing water with an added natural soil bacterium called Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis (BTI), which kills larvae before they have the chance to mature.

Often referred to as "mosquito tea" or "bucket of doom," it creates an irresistible breeding site; once utilized, it instantly shuts down the process without harming pets, people or pollinators.
