A Waldo pizzeria is going cashless after the restaurant was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.

Kansas City police responded to Pizza Tascio in Waldo at 9:31 p.m. Saturday on reports of an armed robbery, Kansas City Police Department Officer Alayna Gonzalez said in an email to The Star.

Victims told officers at the scene that two men entered the business armed with a gun and demanded money before fleeing, Gonzalez said. No one was injured during the incident.

“While the incident was frightening, we’re relieved to share that there was very little damage to the store itself, and most importantly, everyone is safe,” a representative for Pizza Tascio told The Star in an email Wednesday.

Moving forward, the business said it is working on transitioning its Waldo location to a cashless model
