NORTH SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
The Twin Rivers Unified School District has settled a sexual abuse lawsuit for $6 million, according to attorneys involved in the settlement.
San Jose-based law firm Cerri Boskovich & Allard brought the lawsuit on behalf of one of the victims of former Del Paso Heights Elementary School teacher Kim Wilson.
Wilson was convicted of abusing several students earlier this year.
The case alleged that the district failed to properly supervise Wilson, who used his position as the head of the school’s broadcast group to isolate and sexually abuse the victim in a locked, windowless and soundproof room.
In February, Wilson pleaded guilty to nine counts of lewd acts upon a child. He was accused of abusing the students both at home and during events he hosted at his home
