FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Governor Andy Beshear says the state is looking into allegations that non-citizens paid to get Kentucky driver’s licenses.
The accusations came from a former KYTC employee’s lawsuit.
During Wednesday’s team Kentucky briefing, the Governor said state and federal investigators are looking into these claims.
“Ensuring the integrity of state-issued identification is a high priority. And any irregularities are taken seriously and investigated,” Governor Beshear said.
The Governor said that nearly 1,985 credentials have been revoked and that all employees involved are believed to have been hired through a temp agency and have since been terminated.
“We are committed to getting all of the facts and holding anybody who violated the law accountable,” Beshear said.
