Walking the narrow passageways of the USS Cobia, you can imagine 80 men living side-by-side for months at sea.

“It’s very tight quarters. It was hot, it was humid, boring a lot of the time, unless they were in a battle, and then it was just terrifying,” says Karen Duvalle, the submarine curator for the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
