If the Jeffery Epstein case has brought about any good, it’s been to highlight the irreparable damage of sexual assault and abuse — especially toward children.
The extent of Epstein’s sexual abuse is a tragedy on its own. But it also shows how money, power and the well-connected can often play a role in perpetuating horrific crimes that also affect millions of people in lesser high-profile situations.
More can be done to support sex abuse survivors — particularly children and adolescent victims — and to hold abusers to account.
