Authorities arrested an alleged carjacker Wednesday after he led them on a chase through north coastal cities, eventually crashing the victim’s car in Carlsbad.

Kenneth Ash, 30, has been booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple charges, including carjacking, evading police, resisting officers and violating his parole.

At about 9 a.m. Wednesday, deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a carjacking in the 600 block of Hacienda Drive after a male suspect demanded that the victim exit a vehicle, according a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office .
