Through a statement published on social media, the legacy of the historic Cuban leader was remembered: "He continues to march with us: in every battle for sovereignty, in every embrace of solidarity between peoples, in every resistance to injustice."

Earlier, through his social media accounts, President Nicolás Maduro emphasized that the leader of the Cuban revolution is "an example of rebellion and humanism. Fidel is not the past; he is a present that continues to make history with a truly impeccable legacy."
