Downtown Front Royal Inc. continues to move toward accreditation through the Main Street America program.

The nonprofit organization recently joined the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s 2025-2026 Mobilizing Main Street Program. Downtown Front Royal Inc. (DFRi) board president Ellen Aders has said that completion of the program will prepare the organization for an Advancing Virginia Main Street designation and Main Street America accredited status.

Aders updated the Town Council at its work session on Monday as to the nonprofit’s activities. Mayor Lori Cockrell, Vice Mayor Amber Veitenthal and council members Melissa DeDomenico-Payne, Joshua Ingram, H. Bruce Rappaport, R. Wayne Sealock and Glenn Wood attended the work session.
