HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke crews put out an attic fire on Orchard Street Wednesday evening.

The Holyoke Fire Department stated that at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday, crews were called to 2 Orchard Street for reports of a possible attic fire. Units arriving in the area saw smoke coming from the attic of the two-and-a-half-story wood-frame house.

The home's attic and second-floor ceiling sustained damage, but firefighters were able to quickly put out the majority of the fire within ten minutes. All occupants of the residence were able to safely evacuate, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Holyoke Fire Department's Fire Investigation Unit.
