A Plainfield couple is facing serious charges after police say the husband sexually assaulted a child multiple times over a period of years, while his wife, a school nurse, failed to report it.

David Desimone, 56, and Holly Desimone, 52, were arraigned Wednesday in Danielson Superior Court following an investigation by the Plainfield Police Department's Special Investigations Unit. Cameras were not allowed to record the proceedings due to the nature of the charges.

Police began their investigation in June after the victim walked into the police department to report the assaults.
