Officials Wednesday identified a 25-year-old Vancouver man as the driver involved in an Aug. 6 hit-and-run crash in east Vancouver that injured at least 10 people .
Matthew Haynes died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence after the crash, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Vancouver police said Haynes was driving a tow truck when he ran a red light about 5:15 p.m. He struck multiple vehicles at the intersection of Southeast 160th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard, police said.
Witnesses told police Haynes ran from the scene toward an apartment complex in the 17700 block of Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard, where police say he lived.
SWAT was called to assist because Haynes reportedly had a gun.
When police tried to contact Haynes, there was no respo
