After the Komets announced they had signed him to be on their 2025-26 roster, Matt Miller said his girlfriend showed him a post she found on social media.

“She was like, ‘They posted these photos of you and they’re super cute,’” Miller said. “I was like ‘They did what?’”

Courtesy of Matt’s mom, Sharon, the Komets shared photos of the Leo-native sporting the white, orange, and black Komets sweaters from his days of playing youth hockey in Fort Wayne. Holding up a trophy, showing off a medal, skating down ice, and controlling the puck.

“It’s like a dream come true, a full circle moment,” Miller said. “I’ve been in love with hockey since the age of six, going to Fort Wayne Komets games, and getting hockey sticks as Christmas gifts.”
