The Allen County commissioners will have to develop a more detailed plan before moving forward with a more than $5 million relocation of some county services to the new jail site.

The plan is to move ancillary court system services, including Allen County Community Corrections Day Reporting Center, into the old International Harvester engineering complex at the east side of the campus at 2911 Meyer Road. The commissioners also want to determine how to move other county services to the property.

Commissioner Ron Turpin discussed the $5 million proposal with council Wednesday night but he called that price tag a placeholder to give council members notice of possible costs.
