Palermo, N.Y. — A 17-year-old boy was shot Wednesday afternoon by another teen during an altercation at an Oswego County home, according to State Police.
Around 1:30 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Route 49 in Palermo, Trooper Jennifer Jiron said in a news release.
The altercation occurred outside the house when the 17-year-old boy fired a gun wounding another 17-year-old boy, troopers said.
The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with a non-life-threatening injury, troopers said.
State Police did not release the name of the suspect or victim at this time. They also haven’t said whether the shooter is in custody or if he has been charged at this time.
