The TinCaps' offense faded late in a 5-4 loss to the West Michigan Whitecaps on Wednesday at Parkview Field, managing just two hits over the final four innings after scoring four runs in the first three.

Right-hander Clark Candiotti struggled from the outset, walking two of the first three batters he faced before giving up a three-run homer to Izzac Pacheco to make it 3-0 in the first.

In the second, Ryan Jackson hit a sacrifice fly RBI with the bases loaded, and Brendon Karpathios hit an RBI single to make it 3-2.

Pacheco hit his second homer of the game and 10th of the season in the third, making it 4-2. The TinCaps tied the game with a sacrifice fly RBI by Jonathon Vastine and an RBI single by Jack Costello.
