CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Frequently spending time outside, especially in heavily wooded and grassy areas, can leave one vulnerable to all sorts of tick-borne diseases.

For instance, Lyme disease can cause a bulls-eye rash in some people and flu-like symptoms in others. But Rachel Dumene, a communications specialist with the Virginia Department of Health, said that's not all you have to be worried about.
