CARVER, Mass. —
Police said a woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries after she was shot Wednesday evening while walking her dog near a pond in Carver, Massachusetts.
The victim, a 28-year-old woman, drove herself to the Carver police station just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and told officers that she was shot at Sampson Pond.
The victim was taken to South Shore Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The shooting is under investigation and is not believed to be random, police said.
Police also believe there is a connection between the gunman and the victim, but have not released any further details. There is no threat to the public.
