GRETNA, Va. ( WDBJ /Gray News) - Several deputies in Virginia were reportedly shot in the Gretna area on Wednesday evening.

According to a public official who was briefed on the situation but asked not to be named, warrants were being served at a home when the shooting took place.

The deputies suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the reported shooting, but a SWAT team had to help the victims out of the house.

Rep. John McGuire (R-VA 5th District) posted on social media, saying, “My thoughts and prayers are with the deputies who were shot in Pittsylvania County.”

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Troopers.

Authorities did not release any further immediate information.
