MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - Members of the Manitowoc City Council are grieving the loss of one of their own tonight.
On Wednesday, police identified Alderman Jim Brey as the driver who died Tuesday night when his car struck a building in the area of South 26th and Franklin Street.
The passing of Jim Brey came as a great shock to the Manitowoc community.
He had just started his new role as county treasurer back in mid-July, a role his peers say was one he was eager to take on.
Jim Brey wore many hats over the years, dating back to his first year on Manitowoc’s city council in 1992.
