NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We are quickly back into a normal summer pattern as the tropical wave moves west through the Gulf. This will bring hot conditions back over the next few days with a heat advisory for part of the area on Thursday. Expect highs of 93-95 Thursday and Friday.
Isolated storms will be possible each afternoon. These will be slow moving and could cause isolated street flooding, especially in the metro New Orleans areas.
By the weekend expect highs of 94-96. Heat index values will be well above 100. It does look like we will still see storms develop each afternoon but later in the day. This could also lead to strong wind gust potential in some storms.
In the Atlantic Tropical Storm Erin is forecast to continue moving west across the central Atlantic over the next few days. B
