ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — A driver had a close call on I-12 on Tuesday afternoon when debris from another vehicle struck their windshield and slammed into the dashboard, according to the St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection District No. 1.

Despite the impact, the driver was not injured.

Photos showed the debris in the windshield and firefighters assessing the damage.

Authorities are urging drivers to secure loose items to prevent possible accidents or even worse.
