TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Yet another fire ripped through a historic building in South Tucson on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

A 13 News photographer on the scene said there was a fire at the abandoned Tucson Greyhound Park, located at South Fourth Avenue and East 36th Street.

The Tucson Fire Department confirmed its crews were called to the area to assist the South Tucson Fire Department. 13 News has reached out to the STFD, as well as the South Tucson Police Department.

In June 2025, demolition began at the historic dog track. It was the first phase of turning the facility into a soccer youth academy. BVB International Academy Arizona, an affiliate of the German soccer club Borussia Dortmund, will operate the academy.
