UNCASVILLE, Conn. ― Returning home from a winless, five-game road trip, the Sun turned in a stellar defensive performance to stop the skid on Wednesday.

The Connecticut Sun held the Chicago Sky to under 39% from the field and held on to a 71-62 win.

Connecticut (6-26) will look to follow up with another win when the Sun host the Indiana Fever on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m.

Despite the absence of Angel Reese (back) and Courtney Vandersloot (knee), the Sky came out strong and led by six midway through the first. But the hosts did not let up and chipped away as the quarter went on.

Leïla Lacan and Aneesah Morrow combined for 13 points in the first, including a three from Lacan with 1.9 seconds remaining to put Connecticut in front by three to end the quarter.
