A Breeze Airways flight made an unscheduled stop on it way from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). On Wednesday, August 13, Flight 704 had to divert to Grand Junction Airport (GJT) after a passenger became violent mid-way to the destination. The Grand Junction Police Department said they responded to the airport after receiving reports.

The intoxicated passenger had become agitated allegedly yelling racist slurs at airline staff while waving a skateboard. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stated that Carter was taken into custody and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility. The FBI said charges are forthcoming by the US Attorney's Office in Colorado.
