The prototype Boeing 777X registered as WH001/ N779XW arrived in Victorville to begin takeoff performance testing with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The big jet was spotted by B777Xlovers on Thursday morning, August 14 . The series of trials will verify that the 777-9 meets FAA standards for safe and reliable operation under different runway and environmental conditions.

Southern California Logistics Airport (VCV), or Victorville Airport, and Edwards Air Force Base (EDW) will both be host to the battery of tests. The FAA will evaluate the aircraft acceleration, rotation, and climb capabilities, with VMU specifically determining the lowest speed at which the aircraft can safely lift off.
