An injury to Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya has opened the door for one of baseball's top prospects.

According to ESPN insider Kiley McDaniel , Chicago's top prospect Owen Caissie is being promoted and will make his MLB debut Thursday afternoon.

Fittingly enough, Caissie is scheduled to make his MLB debut in his home country of Canada and against the team he grew up cheering for, the Toronto Blue Jays

Caissie was a likely candidate to be promoted, as he has been on a tear at Triple-A Iowa throughout the season.

After going hitless for the Iowa Cubs on Wednesday, Caissie still boasts a season slash line of .289/.389/.566, with 22 home runs, 26 doubles, 55 RBI and a .955 OPS.

His 22 homers rank third in the International League and his .955 OPS puts him fifth.
