Officials at Spectrum are offering a $25,000 reward after one of the internet and cable company’s fiber lines was allegedly intentionally cut in Northridge Wednesday, resulting in a temporary outage for customers in the surrounding area.
The telecommunication company has faced repeated acts of vandalism on it’s equipment that cause widespread outages.
“Criminal attacks on communications infrastructure is a growing issue affecting the entire telecommunications industry, not just spectrum,” the company said in a news release. “These acts are not only a crime, but threaten public safety.”
The most recent incident, according to a company spokesperson, happened Wednesday afternoon. Extra technicians were brought in and were working overnight to splice more than 1,600 fibersto make the repair
