The legal dispute between current and former developers of Richmond’s Diamond District project has been allowed to continue, though with significantly less money apparently at stake.
In a ruling this week on the latest version of former project lead Republic Properties’ $40 million lawsuit, Richmond Circuit Court Judge Bradley Cavedo threw out eight of the 10 counts that were alleged in the complaint, and allowed the remaining two claims – breach of contract and unjust enrichment – to proceed.
The ruling significantly narrows the suit from what had been a multimillion-dollar complaint to what might now be a matter of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
