CLEVELAND — As the Browns and the city of Cleveland remain locked in a bitter battle over where the team will play its future home games, City Council on Wednesday officially approved a measure that reimburses the team for millions of dollars in "emergency repairs" to Huntington Bank Field.

The city owns the lakefront stadium, and under the terms of its lease with the Browns is required to foot the bill for basic repairs deemed necessary "in order to maintain the structure and to preserve its usefulness as a sports facility." The latest infrastructure fixes cost just under $2.7 million, and include things like the replacement of joints in the seating bowl and concourses, repairs to concreate, and gutter system improvements, among other things.
