An amber warning for heat is currently in place in parts of the UK, with a warning to people to make sure they are taking measures to keep cool and hydrated in the heat.

Alerts for hot weather have been issued across the East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, and the South East, while yellow warnings have been issued across the North West , North East, Yorkshire and The Humber and the South West.

The Met Office has said temperatures are expected to rise to 34C for parts of England. By Thursday, August 14, temperatures are forecast to dip below 30C, with highs of 29C expected in London and the South East.
