ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - The Indiana Department of Education released the 2025 IREAD scores on Wednesday.

All four public school districts in Allen County saw improved scores.

IREAD started in the 2011-12 school year and measures foundational reading skills in third-grade students.

NACS sees highest passage rate in Allen County

Northwest Allen County Schools improved from an 89.9% passage rate in 2024 to 94% in 2025 — a 4.1% increase.

NACS Superintendent Wayne Barker said he is proud of the work by students and teachers.

“We feel really good about how well our students performed,” he said. “Just being grateful that our students were able to be successful and then seeing the reaction from our staff that spent so much time working with those students to be successful.”
