The water emergency in Passaic County dragged on Wednesday with no end in sight.
Thousands of people struggled with low water pressure for a sixth day while a crew works to replace a ruptured water main at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson.
The water emergency affects an estimated 200,000 people in Paterson, Haledon, North Haledon, and Prospect Park.
Businesses that prepare food have been ordered shut by the Passaic County Department of Health, and a boiled water advisory remains in effect in all four towns.
Jim Mueller, the executive director of the Passaic Valley Water Commission estimated that about 75 percent of the customers in the affected areas of Paterson, Haledon, North Haledon and Prospect Park have some water — but in many cases, just enough to flush the toilet.
