PORT TOWNSEND — A Gig Harbor man has been sentenced to 50 days in jail and issued a 60-month domestic violence no-contact order following a domestic violence incident that occurred in May in Quilcene.

Tove Cooke was sentenced last Friday in Jefferson County Superior Court following litigation from Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Chris Ashcraft.

Law enforcement officers were dispatched to a domestic assault report on May 14, according to court records. The reporting party said his girlfriend had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend the previous day.

The victim told Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy Alan Jorgensen that Cooke visited her property to retrieve personal belongings. The two had been in a relationship that ended about six months previously.
