GOODING — Ted Harbin and his company, TwisTed Rodeo, have been doing media relations for rodeos since 2005.

It wasn’t until “six or seven years ago,” he told the Times-News , that he started hearing about the Gooding Pro Rodeo: tales of electric crowds and beer-worthy rides, with energy rivaling that of big-time professional sports.

After his first time attending, Harbin was hooked. He’s entering his fourth year as the media director for the Gooding Pro Rodeo, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year.

The rodeo kicked off Wednesday with the “Beauty and the Beast” performance featuring roughstock events and breakaway roping, with full performances running Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m.

“Teenage kids, older people, they’re having a dang good time and it’s well worth watching,”
