Derby County have made an addition to their backroom staff by landing Ryan DeFreitas as the club's new first-team opposition analyst.

DeFretias has left his role as first-team performance analyst at Manchester City to make the move to Pride Park.

He spent three years at the Etihad but has now returned to the East Midlands, where he spent nine years at Leicester City before his move to join Pep Guardiola's staff.

He was appointed as the lead academy performance analyst at the King Power and is now tasked with helping Derby 's ambition for Championship success.

The role will include studying the opposition and providing detailed insight to the coaching staff to aid their preparation for fixtures.
