Police and the council have asked the public for help after a play area in Swadlincote was damaged. Images released by the police showed that parts of the floor mats below the play area in the South Derbyshire town had been ripped out.

The incident is believed to have happened on Thursday, August 7 at the play park near Fabis Close. Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team and South Derbyshire District Council have now asked the public for help in identifying those responsible.

A statement released by the local police team on Facebook read: "SNT and South Derbyshire District Council were disappointed to see the damage which has occurred at the park on Fabis Close Swadlincote, believed to have occurred on August 7, were you in the area?"
