LSU passed the halfway mark of preseason camp on Tuesday , holding its 11th practice ahead of the season opener at Clemson on Aug. 30.
Here are five observations through the first half of preseason practices for LSU.
Perkins making plays
After tearing his ACL during the fourth game a year ago, redshirt junior linebacker Harold Perkins has wreaked havoc during camp.
Perkins' speed, agility and quickness have all returned to pre-injury levels. He also appears more comfortable returning to the star position, a hybrid safety/linebacker role that gives him the freedom to make plays all over the field.
Between Perkins and junior Whit Weeks, LSU heads into the season with one of the best linebacking corps in the country.
