CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. — An investigation is underway in northwest suburban Carpentersville on Thursday morning after officials say three people were injured in a shooting overnight.

In a Facebook post shared just after 12:30 a.m., officials from the Village of Carpentersville said officers were investigating a shooting report in the 1200 block of Navajo Drive.

According to officials, three people were reportedly shot in the area, though specific details surrounding what led up to the incident remain unclear.

Officials say while officers are actively investigating, the scene is secure, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
