CARMEL – Putnam County has a new undersheriff as career law enforcement officer Brian Hess took his oath of office on the steps of the historic Putnam County Courthouse on Wednesday before some two dozen police officers from Putnam and Westchester along with his family.

Hess succeeds Thomas Lindert who has retired. Hess thanked Sheriff Kevin McConville for the appointment. “This is a great opportunity. I look forward to working with my fellow law enforcement professionals in keeping Putnam County safe.”
