(Nelson County, ND) — A former Dakota Prairie school counselor is being sentenced for sex crimes against his former students.

Brendon Thomas Parsley will spend 30 days in jail plus 18 months of probation for misdemeanor convictions involving 17-year-old students. The offenses stem from two incidents that happened before May 2010 and May 2016 involving two students he counseled. Parsley was placed on administrative leave in November 2023 after authorities received reports of the alleged misconduct several years after the fact.

He must also register as a sex offender in addition to the jail time and probation.
