A man is facing several criminal charges after authorities alleged he was driving on the wrong side of the road at more than 100 mph before a fatal crash.

Brian Baldari, 47, of Brick Township, was charged Wednesday with aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and assault by auto, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. Prosecutors said the charges are the result of an investigation that found he was driving on the wrong side of the road at 103 mph for about two miles before the crash.

The eight-vehicle crash, which happened on March 7, caused the death of 66-year-old Edwin Borja, of Manchester, and left both Baldari and another driver injured, officials said.
