GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A doctor with Corewell Health is offering tips for parents to help their kids make healthy food choices.

"Kids don't always want to eat the foods that we want to prepare for them," Dr. Lauren Snyder told News 8. "But the most important thing is making sure that you give them a variety of different foods and keep on exposing them to foods that they will want to eat."

You're encouraged to take into account what your kid enjoys — and if your child wants some ranch alongside their carrots, Snyder says that's just fine.

"I always tell my patients: It's better to have food that they will eat and help them get exposed to vegetables, even if they need a little bit of those processed foods," she said.
