Three sheriff’s deputies injured in a shooting while serving warrants in southern Virginia on Wednesday were "shaken up" but doing well, officials told the Associated Press.

"All three are well. Of course they’re shaken up. And they’re going through the process now of trying to heal," Pittsylvania County Sheriff Michael W. Taylor said, adding: "They’re OK."

The identities of the deputies have not been released and Taylor told reporters that the officers appear to have been wounded by shrapnel and none were directly hit.
